Hall of Honor

Last night I was inducted into Beloit College's Athletic Hall of Honor. It was an amazing evening and I only wish ALL of my family and friends could have been there to share the evening with me.
It was an honor indeed.

There was a brief ceremony during halftime of the men's basketball game when we were introduced...

After the game, there was a dinner and the actual ceremony for the induction. Here the Beloit College President and the Athletic Director gave me a plaque. A copy of it will hang in the Sportscenter at the school.

The inscription on the plaque says:

It is said that the single, most difficult thing in sports is to hit a ball with a bat. If that is the case, Carrie Bieniek had the ability to make that task seem like child’s play during her time at Beloit College. A four-time First Team All-Midwest Conference player, Bieniek remains to this day the most prolific power hitter in Buccaneer Softball history, holding both the season (9) and career (17) records for home runs. But she wasn’t just a long ball hitter. She is also the all-time season and career leader in hits (44/140), average (.478/.417), and runs-batted-in (40/94). Her abilities, combined with her teammates’, helped lead the Bucs to a record of 79-35 during her four seasons, including 32-8 in MWC play. The team hit the top of the MWC in 1996 when the squad won its first and, to date, only conference championship. Even in the years since her graduation with a degree in Psychology, she has continued to lead, working as a Case Manager for adults with developmental disabilities at Bell Therapy in Milwaukee.
