Not taking enough pictures

I realized today that by the time Ava was 2.5 weeks old, I had already taken hundreds of pictures of her. I'm totally slacking with Little Man. Today was an attempt to make up for it.

This last one is my favorite. He's saying, "oh no you didn't!"

Ava's 1st day of school

Ava's 1st day of preschool was today. Mommy and Ava had a very tough time this morning but I'm happy to report we got through it. Ava promised me when she got home that she wouldn't cry for me anymore, but made sure to tell me, "Mommy, I cried for you a lot today because you weren't at my school". That made me feel so bad...

She did make a few friends already but told me the boys were "naughty" so all of her friends were girls. She's too funny.

Finally moved in and Roman is already 2 weeks

We are finally in our new house! I'm sure we'll be surrounded by boxes for several more weeks (or months) but we're finally done.

Ava helped pack up the last of her toys in the van. She is loving her new bedroom and playroom...
Here is the house!Ava loves the humongous driveway. It's probably 5 times the size of our old one. We're also on a cul-du-sac in a new neighborhood so we have almost no traffic.
Can't forget Little Man. He's doing great and sleeping pretty good as well. He loves to eat and watch baseball. He's definitely enjoying the tight race between the Brewers and Cubs. I think he (literally) crapped his diaper last night when the Brewers won and became tied for 1st place with Chicago. This is the 2nd picture in as many weeks that Roman has used an obscene gesture when I took a picture.

Roman Joseph is here!!!!!

Roman Joseph Passante joined our family on July 14th at 1:19pm. He weighed 7lb 11 oz and was 20 inches long. The labor and delivery part was much easier this time around, specifically once the epidural was in place. :)

Roman swallowed a lot of fluid on his way out, so they had to suction him and give some oxygen before I could even hold him... the longest 25 minutes of my life. We also kept a close eye on his bilirubin numbers as he showed slight signs of being jaundice, just as Ava was. We had to go to the pediatrician both Thursday and Friday morning so they could get blood samples. We were also told to increase his milk intake and I'm happy to report not only did the numbers stay in a healthy range, he gained back the 4 ounces he had lost since leaving the hospital.

We've had a busy last couple of days adjusting to life with two kids. It's a lot more difficult than I imagined, mainly because of Ava's transition to sharing our time. She's definitely aware that Roman is taking up Mommy's time from her and she has been very sensitive and sassy.

We're also 3 days from moving into our new home. Joe's been busy packing and transporting most of the boxes and small things while I work on trying to nap any chance I get.

I'll attempt to make another update before the computer gets packed but please bookmark this blog if you'd like to continue with our family updates and pictures. Thanks to all for your well wishes!

Only a day away....

Wow, what a journey it's been! This baby has been almost two years in the making and we couldn't be any more excited to see what tomorrow brings. Ava is at Grandma Mary's house for the next two days as we have to be at the hospital by 6am tomorrow. I had a really hard time (emotionally) dropping her off. I just wish I could put into words to reassure her that although her life will be nothing like she knows it now, we will still love her the same.

To celebrate our last full day of pregnancy, we did a little photo shoot this morning.
